The world has lost a beloved Mother , Sister , Grandmother , Great Grandmother , Kumu Hula on January 5th , 2021.  

 

Ruth or Nalua as most today know her by , was born on November 6th, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Hawaiian values of Aloha and Ohana (Family) were instilled in her by her parents Harry F. Leuck and Elizabeth Hali’imaile Waipa-Akana Leuck. 

 

Her love for Family and HULA coexisted in a beautiful harmony that she expressed  , as she would say , in a flower lei. As each of her students are her flowers , sewn together with the Love for her Husband, Children, Grand Children , and Great Grand Children.
